TOURIST ADVISORY

Winter Advisory:

 

  • Vehicle Choice: During the winter season, the roads in Upper Chitral can be icy and slippery. Therefore, it is recommended to use a four-wheel-drive vehicle with snow chains to ensure better traction and control on the roads.
  • Warm Clothing: The temperature in Upper Chitral can drop to as low as -10°C during winter, so it is crucial to bring warm clothing, such as a heavy jacket, gloves, a hat, and boots, to keep yourself comfortable and protected from the cold.
  • Emergency Supplies: In case of any unforeseen circumstances, such as getting stranded on the road due to a snowstorm, it is recommended to carry emergency supplies, such as a flashlight, extra blankets, food, and water, to ensure your safety.

 

Summer Advisory:

 

  • Vehicle Choice: During the summer season, the roads in Upper Chitral are generally in better condition, and most vehicles can be used. However, if you plan to go off-road, such as visiting the Shandur Pass or other remote areas, it is recommended to use a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
  • Light Clothing: The temperature in Upper Chitral during the summer can reach up to 30°C, so it is recommended to wear light and breathable clothing, such as cotton shirts, shorts, and sandals.
  • Sun Protection: The sun can be intense during the summer, so it is crucial to bring sun protection, such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, to protect yourself from sunburn and heatstroke.
